Tonya Kinnaman

Tonya is the founder and clinical director of Arizona Blue Sky Counseling. She has an undergraduate degree from Grand Canyon University and a master’s degree in counseling from Northern Arizona University. Tonya works with adults, couples, teens, and children with a variety of mental health concerns. She is a certified EMDR therapist and has additional training in trauma and interventions for children. Tonya recently completed training in ERP, an evidence-based treatment for OCD. Tonya also enjoys mentoring and supervising interns who are on their way to being licensed therapists. You will often see her therapy dog-in-training, Watson, with her in sessions.







Chris Lewis

Chris is currently a counseling intern with Arizona Blue Sky Counseling. Prior to his counselor education, Chris spent more than 15 years in healthcare as a practitioner and university professor. Chris holds a Master’s in Computer Science, a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies, and a Doctorate in Medical Science, where his research focused on ACT’s psychological flexibility processes and healthcare worker burnout.
In addition to his graduate education, Chris has completed structured clinical trainings in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and EMDRIA-approved EMDR training.
Chris approaches each person with a sense of warmth and curiosity, tailoring therapy to their individual circumstances and needs. He enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. He is neurodiversity affirming, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and celebrates all cultural, religious, and spiritual traditions.
Although Chris is a licensed Physician Assistant, he currently practices as a supervised counseling intern. In this role, he cannot prescribe medications or offer medical advice. If you require medical care or medications, he will refer you to another licensed healthcare professional.

Brianna Bigelow

Brianna is currently a graduate student enrolled in the Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northern Arizona University. She hopes to support teenagers, young adults, and adults as they navigate life’s stressors. She believes that therapy should be a collaborative process grounded in empathy and free of judgement, where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. She is committed to building strong therapeutic relationships and strives to meet each client with respect for their unique experiences.

Brianna has experience implementing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her work to guide clients in building relevant skills for effective coping, self-development, and meaningful behavioral change. She is passionate about working with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and self-esteem challenges.

Phil Stanfield

Phil spent twenty-one years in the education field serving as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. After retiring from education, he earned his Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University. Phil is a Licensed Professional Counselor and specializes in anxiety, grief, trauma, and stress management. He is trained in Dialectical Based Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing.

Heather Pehrson

Heather utilizes a strengths-based, integrated approach to help clients work toward meaningful goals. A preschool and kindergarten teacher for over ten years, Heather incorporates humor, psychoeducation, and mindfulness into the therapeutic relationship and strives to cultivate an atmosphere that is warm, authentic, and accepting.
 
Heather has training and experience in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), an evidence-based treatment for OCD. Heather primarily works with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, faith transitions, religious trauma, and OCD. Heather works with all genders and ages, specializing in teens, and is LBGTQ+ allied and affirming.
 
She especially loves working with counseling interns as Intern Coordinator, helping them grow into confident and effective clinicians. Heather has a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.   

Aspyn Walters

Aspyn is a Licensed Associate Therapist and National Certified Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from GCU. Her priority is to foster a safe space for people of all backgrounds and perspectives to go on a journey towards mental wellness.
She provides an empathetic and collaborative perspective to tackle problems regarding trauma, LGBTQIA+ topics and concerns, OCD, anxiety, and a variety of other stressors. Aspyn takes an integrative approach with a focus on Client-Centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness. She also has specialized training in EMDR for trauma therapy and in ERP for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Her goal as a therapist is to empower clients to navigate the world, challenging situations, and mental health issues with healthy habits and a better understanding of emotional processes. She is accepting clients of all ages for morning, afternoon, and evening appointments.

Pam Edwards

Everyone has a story that deserves to be heard, and Pam genuinely values the opportunity to listen, understand, and support children, adolescents, and adults as they share their unique experiences. Pam takes pride in creating a safe, compassionate space where clients feel respected, heard, and understood.

Her approach is person-centered and solution-focused, emphasizing empathy, respectful curiosity, and meeting each client where they are. She works with individuals experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, mood and adjustment disorders, and other life challenges. She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), incorporating art and play when appropriate to support expression, insight, and growth.

Pam holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Elementary Education from ASU and NAU respectively, and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

Above all, her priority is to understand each client’s unique needs and help them build on their strengths in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. She provides care both in person and via telehealth, with the goal of helping each person feel empowered, supported, and hopeful as they move forward.
